Badjao B & B, a pleasant Victorian red stone villa, is five minutes from Princes Street -the center of Edinburgh - and the Old and New Town in a pleasant residential area, on Slateford Road near the local Church and conveniently sited for the beach, the city and the countryside.

We are also just 10 minutes walk from Edinburgh's Corn Exchange which offers a lively programme of events and music, a conference centre, a banqueting suite and of course a great bar.

If you want to relax after visiting Princes Street our neighbourhood has plenty of entertainment within walking distance, including cinema, bowling alley, restaurants and bars. If you want a relaxing walk the canal and Edinburgh's glen - The Hermitage of Braid - are nearby. If you are a Rugby fan we are close to Murrayfield. Golfers will find courses nearby.

Parking is free in the sidestreets.

The bus stop is directly opposite us. Bus 35 is a direct bus from the airport and its route covers most of Edinburgh's major tourist attractions including Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, The Royal Yacht Britannia and the Ocean Terminal shopping centre.

Our prices include cold and cooked breakfast, scrupulous cleanliness and service with a smile that more than makes up for the proverbial Edinburgh weather.

Our street, Moat Place commemorates the Moat of Edinburgh castle which was filled in in the 19th Century for being a health hazard. The Moat is now Princes Street Gardens where you can relax and often listen to concerts. The railway runs through the centre of the gardens and tourists have, we are told, been heard complaining "they built the castle too close to the railway" and asking "what time does the one o'clock gun go off".

As we said Lothian bus 35 goes from Badjao directly to Edinburgh castle, the Old Town Holyrood Abbey and Holyrood Park with its spectacular view of Edinburgh from the extinct volcano of Arthur's seat, with its stunning view of Edinburgh, then to Leith Docks, the Royal Yacht Britannia and the picturesque urban village of Stockbridge. and there are buses to other places including Hillend with its ski centre.
